passed away peacefully on September 21, 2018 surrounded by his family. Bob attended Lakewood High School where he played on championship football and baseball teams. He received a football scholarship to play under Woody Hayes at the Ohio State University where he met the love of his life. Bob was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He had an offer to play major league baseball with the Boston Red Sox, but turned it down to attend medical school. He graduated from the Ohio State University College of Medicine with an AOA scientific honorary award and did his residency training at University Hospitals. Bob worked as an Orthopedic Surgeon for 38 years at Lakewood, Fairview and St. John Hospitals and was one of the original founding members of Orthopedic Associates. Bob had a love for medicine and his patients and was very generous with his time. He was the team physician for the Rocky River High School football team for 22 years. Bob was an avid Cleveland sports fan, but was a true Brown's fanatic and a long-time season ticket holder. He can rest more peacefully knowing that the Browns may have found their franchise QB. He watched Big Ten sports especially his family's alma maters. Bob was a member of the Cleveland Yachting Club for 49 years where he enjoyed boating and fishing on the Cast Off. He loved family vacations to his home in Naples, Florida and cruising in the Caribbean. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ruth, grandmother Clara Ryan, brother-in-law Edward Zink, aunt, uncles and cousins. Bob is survived by his wife Leisa of 61 years, their daughter Linnea Michels (Greg), son Robert Yurick (Heidi-deceased), granddaughters Kelsey and Kristi Michels and Lauren and Lindsay Yurick, nephews Greg, Gary and Randy Zink and families and cousins. Bob was extremely proud of his family and all of their accomplishments. Friends may call on Friday September 28, 2018 from 3-7 at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Rd, Avon Lake. A service will be held in his honor on Saturday September 29 at 11:00 am at Rockport United Methodist Church, 3301 Wooster Rd. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center for colorectal cancer awareness and research in honor of his daughter-in-law Heidi Yurick. www.buschcares.com 440-933-3202

Classmate told me that Doctor Yurick had passed. Very sorry to hear this. Will be missed by many....Man of great humility. Always enjoyed catching up with "Doc" at the RR Public Library. He loved his Lakewood Rangers sports teams. Played there during a great era.....Perhaps the finest high school football teams in the country at that time...
Will be missed.

Dr.& Mrs. Yurick have always been (without doubt) the most wonderful people to know. Making our family & others feel welcomed; their support & caring, food & laughter, great conversation- whatever was needed. Such rare commodities these days. We'll miss you.

Dr Yurick was my favorite doctor. He would have a waiting room full of patients, but he always made you feel as though you were his only one. What a wonderful man. RIP Dr Yurick. You made a difference.

Dr. Yurick was one of the kindest and most humble people I have ever known. A devoted husband and father, no family could be blessed with a more caring and compassionate individual. It has been my honor to know him. He will be sorely missed. They who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

In 1971,at age 21, I had started a new job. I was physically training for the job when during one of the exercises I sustained a career ending injury. I dislocated my shoulder, which continued to become dislocated at least six more times.
I was introduced to Dr. Yurick. Long story short, Dr.Yurick wanted to put a screw in my shoulder to keep my shoulder from being dislocated any more. He told me this was a brand new procedure and wasn't sure of the outcome.
I was able to return to work, and to this day, 47 years later, the shoulder he repaired is in better shape than my other shoulder.
I am forever grateful to have met Dr. Yurick.

Our deepest sympathies to Leisa and the Yurick, Michels, & Zink families on the loss of a true Patriarch. Doc was a true Gentleman first and foremost; Scholar, Athlete , Intellectual, Family Man , Healer, Patriot, and Role Model to so many. My fondest memories ( and there are too many to list here) are of Doc in expert command of the Flybridge of the Cast Off, running on/off the RRHS football field to attend both team's injured players, his sporty white turtleneck and tartan holiday combo at the High Parkway Christmas parties, devouring those huge S&P 500 Green Tomes cover to cover, that great picture of him as Fleet Surgeon at the RRYC, his perfect front lawn, and his proud , detailed updates on all of the accomplishments and activities of each member of his beloved family from Leisa through his children/grandchildren each time we met. He was never short of a good joke and a hearty laugh at one's attempt at try in return. We sleep well knowing that Doc is with Heidi, filling the Cast-Off II up with greatly discounted water-free marine diesel... He will be missed greatly by so many...
