SALLY KERN Obituary

Sally Robertson Kern
June 9, 1950 - November 16, 2020

EDMOND
Sally passed away at home on November 16, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. Sally was born June 9, 1950 in Oklahoma City at St. Anthony Hospital. She was the third of four wonderful daughters born to Dr. Dean and Skippy Robertson. She grew up a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. Sally attended Edgemere Grade School, Harding High School and OU (where she was a proud cheerleader and a member of the Tri-Delt Sorority). Sally was a travel agent, worked for Senator Henry Bellmon in Washington D.C., for Governor Henry Bellmon in Oklahoma City and was an office manager for Dr. Stan Muenzler. She enjoyed her early retirement years, especially with the grandchildren!
During her short illness, Sally was overcome by the thoughts and prayers that came in from her childhood Bluebird and Campfire girlfriends, her many friends from Edgemere and Harding and many others.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Dean and Skippy Robertson and sisters, Kathy Lou and Julie Dean.
Our dear Sally is survived by her husband Mickey, daughters Katie Finley (Tom) and Emily Garrett (Rob), step-daughter Kristy Banning (Tom) and sister Rindy Hyde. Sally was so very proud of her grandchildren - Porter, Campbell and Ford Finley (Tulsa), Griffin and Hudson Garrett (Edmond) and step-grandchildren Sutton and Sloane Banning (Austin, TX).
Sally had an especially close bond with her nieces and nephews - Anne Cary, Julia, Tyler, Whitney, Bridger and Courtney. She had so many fond memories of her children and their wonderful cousins playing as kids.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who helped Sally through her short bout with cancer. Also to her special caregiver Ashlei and to Mercy Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the J. Dean Robertson Society (OU College of Dentistry, Suite 514, 1201 N. Stonewall Avenue, Oklahoma City, OK 73117).
A private family service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church.

I grew up with Kathy Lou at Edgemere and later at Harding. Our dad was the other Dr JM Robertson, DDS here in OKC.
I Grew up with all the girls at Westminster Presbyterian Church. We all loved out “kissing- cousins” family growing up. Also grew up with Mickeys younger brother Jerry Kern until we split our ways.
Dean & skippy were like spare parents and are terribly missed to this day. Rest In Peace Sally. You are now back with Kathy, Julie, Dean & Skippy. Deepest condolences to you Mickey & family, Randy. You all helped the rest of us become better persons.
