Wilma Saberski Mendelowitz
Tarrytown - Wilma Saberski Mendelowitz passed away on May 14, 2019. Born in 1926, she was a lifelong resident of Tarrytown. Wilma was the daughter of Lena and Leopold, the owners of Saberski's Shoes on the former Orchard Street in Tarrytown. She was predeceased by her three older siblings, Eugene, Ruth, and Irwin. She is survived by her husband, Stanley; her children, Larry and his wife Karen, Ed and his wife Khanh, Dave, Mark, Ruth, Seth and his wife Annie, and Joan and her husband Marc; and her grandchildren, Adam, Dana, Leah, Jed, Tessa, Zev, and Miryam. Wilma loved Tarrytown and the Hudson River, the arts, literature, tennis, hosting large gatherings, and most deeply of all, every moment spent with her family. Funeral services will be held 11:30 am, Friday, May 17, at Temple Beth Abraham, 25 Leroy Avenue, Tarrytown, NY. Donations in Wilma's memory can be made to Phelps Hospital.
