TAYLOR JR., BENJAMIN DAVID June 1, 1963 to Dec. 24, 2012 Ben, "Benny," "BT," passed away unexpectedly on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Pam; daughter, Ashley; step-daughter, Brooke; parents, Ben and Jessie Taylor; sisters, Wanda, Vickie, Elizabeth and Linda; extended family and hundreds of friends. Ben was a true family man. He loved spending time with his girls- traveling, camping, riding, and hiking just to mention a few. He spent many years water skiing the Colorado River, riding through the desert of Ocotillo Wells, and exploring the Eastern Sierras. Ben would always share his travels by sending portraits with beverage in hand to friends or standing next to a sewer manhole to his work crew. Ben spent his entire career with the City of Encinitas, 30+ years, and was counting down the days towards retirement just 5 more years. He never hesitated to help anyone because he knew when he needed help he would have it. We honor Ben's final wishes to Donate Life - his legacy lives on as he continues to help others. Ben was an amazing man, husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. His smile, his laughter and his joking will be deeply missed by all. He is at peace in Heaven with many others who welcomed him. He is "Our Angel" and will continue to watch over us as we go forward but constantly remember. A Celebration of Ben's Life will take place on Sunday, January 6th, at 2 p.m. at the Encinitas Community Center, 1140 Oakcrest Park Drive, Encinitas. In lieu of flowers, trust accounts have been established for Ashley Taylor and Brooke Williams at Wells Fargo Bank, 760-726-0453.

Benny - I'll never forget our families' camping adventures when we were kids. I have vivid memories of gathering frogs, climbing trees, swimming - and always laughing. Running into you over the years in Encinitas always sparked those memories. I'm thankful for them. You are missed, Benny.

I worked with Ben for over 25 years and he was always willing to help out, and with a smile no less. Will miss his humor and the way he would lift spirits in the office. Rest in peace my friend.

Our deepest sympathy to Ben's Family. We were shocked and saddened when we learned of his sudden passing, but were also filled with pleasant memories of his warm smile, big heart and caring, joyous spirit. We met when I worked for Encinitas and we were team-mates on a co-ed softball team. I will always be grateful for the chance to share those times with Ben.
We know how important family was to Ben, and how much he loved his girls. We hope the beacon of his warmth, love and kindness always shines for his girls, family and friends.

You always had a smile as big as the Grand Canyon, not once did it ever diminish, for that reason, you were a friend to everyone. Now you're in heaven with a cold Guiness in your hand and you're looking down at us! No doubt in my mind you're smiling. I hope to see you again my friend! But until then, I want you to know that you touched enough people down here, and you will live in our hearts forever! RIP BEN! I will always remember you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ben's family and friends. He is so loved by so many. I don't think Ben ever met a stranger. Although I only saw him occasionally over the last 20 years, he was a dear friend whom my daughter always called Benji-Walker when she was very young. He will be missed by all. Rest in peace my friend!
