Carole W. Earle
CHAPEL HILL - Carole Marie Walter Earle, 75, of Northside Dr. Chapel Hill, NC died 19 September 2017 at her home. Mrs. Earle was the wife of John D. Earle, Jr. and the daughter of the late Ruth Naomi Jenkins Walter and late George Franklin Walter, Jr. of Elizabeth City, N.C. Carole was born in Richmond, VA on 14 April 1942. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, John Michael Earle of Pittsboro, NC; Jeffrey W. Earle and wife Lisa of Chapel Hill; Kevin D. Earle, wife Deborah Hall and grandson Jack of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Richard Jenkins Walter and wife, Sandra, of Vienna, VA; a sister-in-law Rose Mary Walter of Virginia Beach, VA.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Naomi Adele Walter Brice of Newport News, VA in 1980, her brother James Bray Walter, Sr. of Virginia Beach in 2005, and her sister Lea Louise Walter Gregory of Elizabeth City in 2007.
She grew up in Elizabeth City and attended Elizabeth City Public Schools as well as East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. As a child, she spent many enjoyable summers with her mother, father, two brothers and two sisters at their family cottage on the ocean next to the south side of the Coast Guard Station in Nags Head, NC.
Carole previously worked at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and in later years, assisted her husband with his company, Village Plumbing. As published in The Daily Advance
