I just read of "Woody's" passing this morning. We served in the St. Louis Park Public Schools during the same time period, but in different departments. During times when we crossed paths,he demonstrated his love of teaching and caring about students and faculty. May God bless you with memories of happy times together!

Carole and Family,
There are miles between us but rest assured we are very close to you all today. Memories are great but even better is knowing Woody as a great Christian man. God bless and comfort you all.

Carol and Family,
May God bless you at this time, Woody was my mentor coming to SLP Jr. High and taught me and the students so much a life. He will be truly missed and I can only hope I teach and live life with the same passion I saw in Woody. God blessed us all with a wonderful person.

Dear Carole, It seems as if you sold my little house on the hill just a few years ago. Actually, it was nearly 30 years ago! I so appreciated your friendship then. . . and can't believe how the last years vanished. So many kind words about your Woody. I am happy that you married such a gem . . . .but so sorry about your loss. Carol Riley

Carole ans Family,
My years at St. Louis Park were were joyful largely because of my relationship to Woody. He always was full of good ideas, which i took advantage of when ever we talked about the physical education program or even in discussions which had nothing to do with school at all.
My prayers are for you and your family. I thank God that I had the good fortune to work with Woody.
Love,
Joe Cavaleri

Some of my favorite childhood memories are of youth summer gymnastics at St. Louis Park high school with Mr. Sattervall as my instructor as well as my years at Lenox with him as my "gym" teacher. I will always remember the kindness that he showed all of his students and as I think back (now that I am in my 50's) he was the perfect example of what all teachers should be. I feel blessed to have known him. Please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of many people at this time. Carole, I am the City of Plymouth employee who always tells you, when you call our office, to say hi to your husband from one of the "Lenox" Otterson girls.
He will be greatly missed!

We lost a true gem with the loss of our dear friend and neighbor Woody. We loved sharing stories about the trials and tribulations of our Golden Gophers on our front portico with you and Carole. You were the ultimate optimist so Tuesday night's victory over Indiana was for you. Our thoughts and prayers are with Carole and family. May you rest in peace and keep those Gophers winning down the home stretch.
