Hilda Mae Schwartz, 91, passed away peacefully on September 9th, 2020, in her hometown of DeFuniak Springs, Florida. She was born on October 26th, 1928, to Willis C. Gandy and Agnes Douglas Gandy. She was preceded in death by her husband Frederic Peter Schwartz and her granddaughter Ashley Lauren Chastain.
She is survived by her sister Bobbie Jean Chastang and children Cathey (Steve) Lawson, Jeff (Tina ) Chastain, and Andy (Michelle) Chastain; grandchildren Neysa Jenkins, Casey Wilson, Bailee Barrett, and Sam Chastain; great grandchildren Ellie Barrett, Leila Barrett, Joshua Barrett Jr., Chloe Wilson Jenkins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a member of St. Agatha's Episcopal Church where she was the longest serving member of the vestry and Senior Warden for seven years. She graduated from Walton County Schools. She was employed by Memorial Hospital of Chattanooga, Tennessee, as a Senior EKG Technician for most her adult life before returning to her home in DeFuniak Springs where she worked part time for Dr. Ruben Garcia.
Hilda Mae lived her life with a grateful heart and cherished her time with everyone she met. Her sense of humor and playfulness were always on display as she enjoyed every day of her wonderful life. She was forever the example of how to live a hopeful and encouraging life. Each day was a mission to make others smile.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Marie Hinson, Dr. Ruben Garcia, Chautauqua Nursing Home, Stanley House Assisted Living and Regency Hospice of DeFuniak Springs.

A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM, Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Clary-Glenn Funeral Home Chapel; 230 Park Avenue, DeFuniak Springs, Florida 32435.
A private family graveside services will be held at St. Agatha's Episcopal Church.
