Louise Marie Krifka Alfano, 89, of West Pittston, went to eternal rest peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, after a brief illness.
Born in Kingston on Sept. 6, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Novak Andrewlavage.
She was a member of St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed in the garment industry.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Krifka Sr., and after his passing years later was married to Samuel Alfano; brother, Louis Andrewlavage; and sister, Theresa Golombeski.
She is survived by her children, Nicholas Krifka and wife, Judith, Carol DeLeo, Sandra Prybylski and husband, Joseph, George Krifka Jr. and Patricia Gilmore; grandchildren, Bernice Beam; John Krifka, Omaha, Neb.; Jessica Budzak, Katherine Prybylski and Gail Fike; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family of Louise would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Highland Manor for the exceptional care she received during her stay.
Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, Main Street, Pittston. Those attending are asked to go directly to the church. The Very Rev. Gary Mensinger will officiate.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Howell-Lussi Funeral Home, 509 Wyoming Ave., West Pittston. Parastas will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
Interment will be held in St. Michael's Cemetery, Pittston.
