Ronald Eugene "Ron" Westrich, age 76, of Cheshire, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at his home. He was the devoted husband of Patricia "Pat" (Morrison) Westrich. Ron was born on October 25, 1941, in East St. Louis, IL, son of the late Enos and Blanche (Goalby) Westrich.
Ron served his country in US Army, and later worked in sales and management for a subsidiary of Alcoa and various aluminum suppliers. He was a communicant of St. Thomas Becket Church and enjoyed summers in Maine with his family. Ron was renowned for his sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, Pat of Cheshire, he is survived by his children, Kevin (Julianne) Westrich of Fairport, NY and Elizabeth (Randall) Billy of Southbridge, VA; his grandchildren, Ethan, Katherine, Meredith, Claire and Elise; his siblings, Theodore (Nannette) Westrich, Robert (Suzanne) Westrich and Arlene Robinson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Harry Robinson.
Friends may greet Ron's family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home, 615 So. Main Street, Cheshire, CT 06410 on Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12 p.m. in St. Thomas Becket Church, 435 No. Brooksvale Rd., Cheshire. Full Military Honors will follow at church. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family.

Ron was just 6 days younger than me. I always knew him as a funny and fun-loving guy. I have looked for him at various reunions to tell him how much his great sense of humor cheered me up all through high school especially.
May he rest in peace in is heavenly home. May the Lord comfort his family.
