Rosemary (O'Donnell) Gillis, 82, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Copley at Stoughton Nursing Home, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Weston J. Gillis. Born in Boston, she was raised and educated in the South End of Boston and was a graduate of Boston Schools. Mrs. Gillis was a dedicated homemaker at home with her family. She was a member of the Stoughton Senior Center. In her free time, she enjoyed ceramics, reading, having lunch with friends and spending time with her beloved family. Mrs. Gillis is survived by her loving children; Daniel J. Gillis and his longtime companion Gail Lussier of Middleboro, Michelle Hamilton and her husband James of Rockland and David J. Gillis and his wife Kathleen of Brockton. She was the grandmother of David Gillis, Patrick and Kelly Hamilton and Natalia Simmons. Funeral Prayers will be offered in the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St., (Rt. 27), Stoughton on Friday at 11 AM. Visiting Hours will be prior to the prayers from 9-11 AM. Interment will take place at Rock Ridge Cemetery, Sharon. Donations in Rosemary's memory may be made to the Ilse Marks Food Pantry, PO Box 812, Stoughton, MA 02072.
