William BARNES Obituary

Born on June 28, 1923 in Mojave, Calif. He passed away Dec. 21, 2017 at his longtime home in Neenach, Calif. He attended Quail Lake grammar school, Antelope Valley High School and Antelope Valley College. Bill served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was a dry land farmer in the west end of the valley for over 70 years. On Oct. 17, 1948 he married his lovely bride Eldora Cruickshank in Lancaster, Calif. They were devoted for 68 years. He was involved with many civic groups in the valley, 4-H, Farm Bureau, Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, Antelope Valley East Kern Water Agency, West Valley County Water District, Los Angeles County Register-Recorder Precinct and poll worker, Los Angeles County Street Naming Committee, Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival Association, Antelope Valley Old-timers BBQ Committee. He is survived by his children Lynn, Reed and John Barnes, Rae Ellen Usrey, Julia Stempora and Edwina Weddle, 22 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
A memorial will be held Jan. 27, 2018 at 11:00 am at Frazier Park Recreation Building (3801 Park Drive Frazier Park, California.)
