SOrry to hear about Mona Vina Stout Barto
December 22, 2017
Grandma Mona Jensen will always "live" in my heart with sweet loving memories. I was once a young stranger in a strange land when Grandma Jensen took me in her home. It was August 1970 when I was accepted to Ricks College, in Rexburg, Idaho as a foreign student from Los Andes, Chile.
With fifty dollars in my pocket, a barrowed suitcase full of "light clothing", a few pictures from my family and a few humble little gifts I arrived to Grandma Jensen's front door. She greeted me warmly with a welcoming hug and sweet smile. Instantly, I connected with her beautiful blue eyes and quick to smile pretty face.
Still, getting used to a new place, language, religion and life style was not easy, actually, those first 3 months were very difficult. Had it not been for Grandma Jensen and her beautiful family, specially Mala and Kathy, I would had never made it to the happy woman I am today, namely, wife to an Idaho farmer, mother of 8 children and granny to 31 gorgeous grandchildren.
Finally, there is no doubt in my heart, mind and soul... Heavenly Father knew I would need a North American-very special- role model for me to follow, so that I could accomplish what He had in mind for my earthly journey: Grandma Jensen was,is and will always be, even to the last day I saw her this last summer "The North American motherly-heavenly-role model I needed in my life!
Grandma Jensen I'm for ever indebted to you, Grandma Jensen I love you!

Our family sends all our love to such a wonderful family! Our children have sweet memories of Aunt Mona coming out to the back yard and spending time with her. They each said, "Aw, we love Aunt Mona."
We wish we could attend the funeral, we will be praying for all of you instead. Hugs to each one of you!
