Dear Anita,
I was so sorry to hear about Rick. I never knew him really well. The last time I saw him was in front of the Samoa during October Fest. We had a nice visit. So sorry for your loss.

Jamie n Rick!!! Your dad, the kindest best looking guy in this world, and he was truly my inspiration for 43 years! We met in Rexburg on a side street off main, when I was 15, as I was crossing the street with my friend , he was 17 and driving his big brown pick up! It was a chilly night, he rolled down his window, said hi! Warmed my hands, wow! He didn't ever tell me his name for the longest time so ...I called him Josh for years!!! Hahaha! We have kept good friends every since!
My funniest memory is working the spud harvest with that same girlfriend, driving his small tractor into the cellar and instead of slowing down I accidentally sped up and just about hit the piler, so I yanked on the steering wheel and ran the tractor into the wall crushing the front of the tractor, obliterating the radiator fan, my friend was sitting on the back and she saw stars. I felt so bad, it was actually Friday the 13th! I Remember he said he counted 13 things that went wrong that day. Anyway, he had it fixed by the morning and we continue to work! He loved that farm and was so dedicated!
I moved out of state at 18 but continued to keep in touch 40 more years, he often called when in Salt lake sometimes visiting and when I came to Idaho we went to lunch and caught up. We spent many hours on the phone enjoying each other's friendship during the long dark cold winters. Just sharing our dreams and experiences.
I even brought my two youngest boys to see what farm life was like after moving to Salt Lake Valley! They had fun riding the four wheelers with Ricky (age 10), around the farm. Now my youngest wants to own his own farm and is well on his way to that goal at age 25. We also enjoyed watching Ricky motocross!!
The main thing I want you to know that I know, is that we will all see him and be with him again and it will be one happy family reunion. I love you guys so much and pray all the Lords blessings be upon you and your family forever.
Much love,
Michelle Whitehead
