Donald Bowman Obituary

Donald J. Bowman, 90, husband of the late Arlene M. (Hatfield) Bowman died Friday March 9, 2018, at Sanatoga Center, Lower Pottsgrove Twp. Born in Broadway, VA, he was a son of the late Shearer and Nellie (Grabil) Bowman. Mr. Bowman worked as a forklift driver for Doehler-Jarvis for 45 years. He trained officers at West Point for the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Bowman was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Pottstown where he was a member and teacher of the Brotherhood class. He was a former fireman for Limerick Twp. and was a member of the Limerick Historical Society. Mr. Bowman is survived by two sons, Stuart E. Bowman of Royersford and Donald K. Bowman, Niagara Falls, NY; three daughters, Janet E. Benham of Camp Hill, Sharolyn A. Segletes of Royersford and Donna K. Yoder of Douglassville. Seven Grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mr. Bowman is predeceased by eight brothers and five sisters. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 150 N. Hanover St., Pottstown. Officiating will be Reverend Phillip Waselik. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Niantic. There will be a viewing from 9:30 until 11:00 am on Saturday at the church. Contributions may be made in his memory to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, “Shares of Faith”. Arrangements are by the Schumacher & Benner Funeral Home & Crematory, at 359 King St. in Pottstown, PA.
