We are friends with Scott and Ursula and didn't know Eddie personally. But it turns out we did know Eddie and Tara, Shanna and Eddie vicariously through our neighbors, the Bauerleins.. At Ed's wake, we saw Patty Bauerlein and were able to talk a while and share condolences. Patty and John are friends and neighbors of ours, and Erika and Kayla are close friends with our two sons, Calvin and Roy. Patty has over and over told me us stories of camping adventures with the group! That's you!!! It's funny how we are all a community in ways we don't even realize. Our family is so very sad that Ed died. We are thinking so much about all of you - Tara, Shanna, Eddie, Scott, Ursula, Declan and Gavin, and also Rob and James and their families who we met for the first time Monday night.

I worked with Eddie at UPS in Ramsey, I was the testing liaison between the developers and the user testers, as Eddie was the liaison between user testing and the and the end user.
Eddie was one of the bright spots in my career with UPS, which was only 16 years, I retired in 2006. I ran into Eddie after he retired, and as usual, he was happy, cheerful, and friendly.
Many times, in our working relationship things went wrong, as they will; usually my fault. Eddie was very professional, never getting upset, never attacking me personally; in fact, I do not think I ever saw Eddie lose his temper at anyone or anything.
I am active in the Warwick Valley Knights of Columbus, and a parishioner at St. Stephen's church, and I hope that someday we can meet in person so that I can give you my personal condolences.
Eddie was indeed special, and he will be missed by many.

I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ed for a period of time early in my UPS career. He was always willing to lend an ear, a hand or a laugh. I found him to be incredibly generous, kind and genuinely sincere. He was one of the good guys!
