Gladys C. Ruit
Wappingers Falls - Gladys C. Ruit of Wappingers Falls entered into rest Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Wingate at Beacon. She was 90.
Daughter of the late George and Mary Rolleston Laux, Gladys was born on June 17, 1926 in Yonkers; she grew up and attended schools in Riverdale. Gladys married Robert I. Ruit on January 12, 1946 in Riverdale. Mr. Ruit survives at home in Wappingers Falls.
Gladys worked as Deputy Town Clerk for the Town of Wappinger for 27 years, until her retirement.
In addition to her husband, Robert, survivors include her sons, Robert Ruit and his wife, Gail, George Ruit and his wife, Maryann, and Thomas Ruit; 3 granddaughters; 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Gladys was predeceased by her son, Ronald (Skip), two grandsons, and her sister, Doris.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 E. Main Street, Wappingers Falls, N.Y. 12590.
