Thomas John & Christine Ann DiPietro
Thomas John DiPietro and Christine Ann DiPietro, both 59, passed away in their home on March 22, 2016. Tom was born in Manhattan, NY on June 23, 1956 to Thomas Paul DiPietro and Jean Elizabeth DiPietro. Chris was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on May 13, 1956 to Walter Edgar Evans and Imelda Mary Evans.
Tom and Chris are survived by their three children Thomas, Daniel, and Nicole, their in-laws Laura, Jon-Matthew and Meika, as well as their five grandchildren Dylan, Rowan, Vera, Carson, and Kyan. Tom is survived by his mother, his father, and his siblings Eugene, James, Debbie, Glenn, Caroline, Anthony, and Patricia. His brother Dean passed away in 2013. Chris is survived by her mother and her siblings Ron, Patricia, Elaine, Kenny, Betty, David, Dan, Nancy, Jim, Janet, Karen, and Rich. Her father passed away in 2010. Tom and Chris grew up in Wappingers Falls, NY and were high school sweethearts. When Chris's family moved to Colorado Springs in 1973 she saved money and bought a flight back to New York to be with Tom. They married on April 3, 1975 in the town of Fishkill, NY and their love was forever vibrant and inspirational. Tom worked as a manager at IBM for 29 years. After leaving IBM he ran his own landscaping business for a few years before starting work at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters. He was a volunteer fireman at the Underhill Jericho Fire Department from 2008-2013. Chris worked in sales at State Farm Insurance for nearly 41 years. Every Christmas she sang in the St. Thomas Catholic Church choir in Underhill, VT. Tom and Chris were active people who loved the outdoors. They biked, hiked, camped, fished, swam, and hunted. They were active members of their community in many ways. Of the many community activities, they will be most remembered for the time they spent with the Vermont Leashed Tracking Dog service. Tom and Chris trained dogs to help hunters recover wounded animals. They began volunteering their time for this service in 2000. They worked with their dogs Musket (who passed away in 2014), Addie, Scout, and Filly and helped hundreds of hunters. Their three beloved dogs also passed away on March 22, 2016. Tom and Chris did everything together. They loved their grandchildren and spent many hours with them at the pool, in the woods and riding bikes. They had more energy to run and play with their grandchildren than most young adults and will be dearly missed.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 31, 2016 at 1:00om at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Rte. 15, Essex Center. There can be an extraordinary comradery that exists within a group with shared interests and goals; and, once a week, Chris and Addie attended an agility class on Wednesday evenings to pursue those interests we were Waggles classmates. To all who were ever in their presence, it was delightfully apparent that Chris and Addie shared a mutual adoration for one another, as well as an exuberance for what they were doing together. For one short hour each week, we all shared our acceptance of a fun challenge, our genuine love of dogs, and the uplifting joy of laughter. Our always positive and ever-smiling friend, Chris, and sweet Addie are truly missed.
With heartfelt sympathy to the family.

It is a heartbreaking loss to the community of trackers. Tom and Chris were so generous with their time, energy and knowledge, and started a number of novice trackers. Always supportive, always with a great smile. They will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Tom and Chris.

We both worked with Tom at IBM. He was a great guy always with a positive attitude no matter what was going on. He was a kind and thoughtful person, and loved his wife dearly. Such a sad happening. May their children remember their kindness and thoughtfulness to everyone and carry that forward.

So sorry to hear of Tom and Christine's passing. I worked for Tom at IBM. He was a great manager. His work ethic was contagious. He treated everyone fairly and was very encouraging. He just loved telling stories about his family and, of course his dogs. I never met Christine but felt I knew her just by listening to Tom. They will be greatly missed.

You were a good man and a good friend. You always made me laugh, even when we were having a bad day at work. I can't begin to understand why this happened. I will miss you, Tom. Rest In Peace, my friend.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom for the last 5 years. He was truly one of the best people to be around. Even if you were a stranger to him he took the time to introduce himself and get to know you. He had a way about him that could bring light to any situation. My thoughts and prayers go out to their family, children and grandchildren.

My deepest sympathy to the whole DiPietro Family. Tom was my manager in the late 1990's at IBM. He was a wonderful person, with a great sense of humor and a lot of compassion. In the recent years, I enjoyed my conversations with him at the Essex hunting show. After all the years he never forgot who I was and was always so friendly. It was truly a pleasure to get to know such a wonderful man that always had a smile on his face. May both your mom and dad rest in peace.
