Clarence I.
Peterson
Poughkeepsie, NY - Clarence I. (Jack) Peterson, Jr., 92, of the town of Poughkeepsie went on his "merry way" on June 14, 2016. He was born in Bridgeton, N.J. April 22, 1924, the son of Clarence I., and Edna Peterson, Sr. Jack was employed at IBM for 25 years. He served 12 years in the Navy, aboard the U.S.S. Woreester during World War II, where he saw the world. After he returned from the service, he was educated in electronics, and married his wife Ethel Bill, who is predeceased. Jack was a past president of the then E. Fishkill Girls Lassie League softball team.
He was a loving, devoted, tireless father, friend, uncle, grandpa, Poppy, and great grandfather. He enjoyed bowling, sailing, the ambulance squad, volunteering, was a great neighbor, and always brought a smile and laugh with him.
Surviving are his daughters, Sharon Lieberman and Jerry, of Florida, and Heidi Havens and her partner Robert Foster, of Wappingers Falls, grandchildren, Jennifer Havens of New York state, Jeffrey Stickter of Poughkeepsie, Shelby Havens, of Rhode Island, and Rachel Lieberman of Vermont, great grandchild Owen Clark of LaGrangeville, and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Delehanty Funeral Home 64 E. Main St., Wappingers Falls, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM. Interment will be at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
