M. Lucine Barton
HYDE PARK - M. Lucine Barton, 94, of Hyde Park, NY passed away on May 10,2017 at the Renaissance Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hyde Park, NY.
Marie Lucine Barton was born in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 5, 1922 to Bernard T. & Marie Goblic Davis. She was baptized at St. Mary's Parish.
While attending Fairview Grade School, her Sunday School Classes were at St. Peter's Parish. At Arlington High School, where she met her future husband, Frederick C. Barton in the same graduating class. He, because of her, took lessons at St. Mary's Parish and was baptized there in 1941.
They were both employed in the World War II industry at Standard Gage Company, from which he departed to serve in the Army in the Pacific Theater.
After his return, they were married at St. Joseph's Parish on January 13, 1946. They won their first care, a 1946 Ford from there, where in the deal, it was agreed that Fr. Kaminski would baptize their first son.
After the War Lucine worked at the Poughkeepsie City School District, the High School and Trade School till 1949.
They moved from Poughkeepsie to Hyde Park onto a plot of land purchased from Ellen Roosevelt, next to her parents 66 years ago. They put their two sons Steven and Peter through St. Peter's School, Lourdes High School and Dutchess Community College and Steven through Marist College.
After Frederick's retirement in 1986, they had busy years until his passing in February of 2003. They enjoyed travel with IBM Quarter Century Club. She in 2006 rode AMTRAK to Reno, Nevada for her 84th Birthday, to home of her son Peter, where he resides with his wife Nancy.
Besides her two sons, she is survived by Nancy Barton, and friends: Debbie Barton of Kingston, NY; Jimmy Geueke of Florida; Mary Ose & Jim Bozlinski of Poughkeepsie, NY. She was predeceased by her sister: Beverly Ann Hopkins in March 1993.

Visitation will be Monday, May 15, 2017, 9-10AM at the Wm. G. Miller & Son FH, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass Of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30AM at Mt. Carmel Church, Mill St., Poughkeepsie, NY 12601. Entombment will follow in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
