Just read of Ron's passing. He is responsible for the start of my joy of golf. Too many stories to recount. He gave more of himself than any Pro in the game I have ever met. I miss those money matches and the smack that you taught me that has entered my lexicon. The great memories will live strong with me.

Ron was a one-of-a-kind, soft-hearted, tough-guy professional who knew who his friends were and would do anything to help a friend in need. He was forever acting the tough guy and fooling nobody, including himself. I know he missed Carolyn terribly and I'm going to miss Ron always. He was a great friend who taught me a lot about being a man. He also told me he would pick me up and throw me like a dart a couple of times, which was pretty funny since I was roughly double Ron's size. Bob Catapane, I think that maybe he could have thrown you. The world is a poorer place with Ron's passing.

I met Ron years ago when he was an assistant pro at the IBM Country Club and saw him a number of times since. He was definitely one of the good guys and had a great personality. My condolences to his family. May he Rest in Peace.

We will never forget you Ron. You always made us so welcome at McCann. It was our favorite place in the world to play golf because of the great atmosphere, which was very much created by you.
