Mary Alice Steele
Poughkeepsie - Mary Alice Steele, 74, a longtime local area resident, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at home surrounded by her loving family, The Arc of Dutchess.
Mary was born March 10, 1942 in Kingston, New York. Mary joined The Arc of Dutchess family in 1992.
She is survived by her family, The Arc of Dutchess, who have worked tirelessly to ensure she was provided with love, respect and compassion throughout her life.
Mary Alice will be remembered for her sweet greetings, grandmotherly ways and, her love for babies, animals and manicures. Her love, smile and determination transcended her physical and intellectual challenges. Mary Alice was adored by her family and friends at The Arc of Dutchess and Abilities First, Seniors Center. The Arc of Dutchess staff would like to extend their thanks for the compassionate care and support provided by Hospice.
Calling hours will be from 10 am to 12 noon, Tuesday, March 29th at Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc., Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
A funeral service will follow at 12 noon at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be in LaGrange Rural Cemetery, Poughkeepsie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Arc of Dutchess, 84 Patrick Lane, Suite 130, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. (www.arcdutchess.org).
