My father-in-law's love of his family was a constant throughout my 20 plus years of knowing him. There was no question that his family was his first, second, and third priority.

Joining the family through marriage clearly required his approval, and I have the fond memory of visiting with him before I proposed to his daughter, Gina. I was given his blessing, but with three conditions:

1. We would not live together until we were married.

2. We would raise our children in the Catholic religion.

3. I would do whatever it would take for Gina to continue to sparkle.

I may not have always lived up to these commitments, but I can tell you he never forgot my promise as he reminded me of the "sparkle" one just this last week when I was last able to speak with him.

Beside his high expectations, Mr. D'Aprile was nothing but extremely warm and kind with me and the true embodiment of a most honorable man from the day I met him to his dying day.

With much respect and love,

David (Riberi)
