Robert (Bob) Glen Wetmore, of Penngrove, California passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the age of 86. After months of failing health, he died peacefully at home with his beloved wife, Marian and family by his side.
Bob was born on October 15, 1932 in the San Juaquin valley. As a boy he lived mostly on the farm with his three brothers and two sisters, until moving to Santa Cruz, CA at the age of 12.
As a very young man he learned to work hard and was an amazing athlete. He served in the Air Force from 1947 to 1950. He had a long carrier with PG&E retiring in 1993.
In 1945, he met the love of his life, Marian, while working at Me-N-Ed's Pizzeria. They married in 1955 and lived together for over 63 years. They raised six children in San Jose. In 1979, they moved to Penngrove, CA where they enjoyed the company of family and friends until his death.
Bob loved camping, hunting, baseball and football but fishing was his one true passion. He loved to spend time with family and friends at Lake Almanor, at big cove resort he was known as Fisherman Bob. He and Marian spent summers there from 2000 to 2016.
He was a strong patriarch of his family, a good friend to all, a man who would give his shirt for a friend. He was a good father who always took care of his children and did the best he could to teach and guide them, a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. He is loved and will be missed by all.
Robert Wetmore is survived by his loving wife Marian; children Rodney Wetmore (Linda), Renee Frank (David), Raymond Wetmore (Diane), Randall Wetmore, Rick Wetmore, Russel Wetmore; 15 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and other beloved friends and relatives.
A celebration of his life will be held after the holidays.
