Coach thanks for bringing out the best in me! We have a few players been waiting to see you! You were a always a fair coach. And some of my teammates from football are still friends. God speed no hot dogs on Thanksgiving inside joke! I enjoyed the three years playing varsity football! Thanks again for the memories! Class of 1974

If you've ever been to a playground or athletic field in East Providence;
if you've ever had the privilege to compete, at any level, at a sport,
as I did, you owe Bill Stringfellow a debt of gratitude.

He'd be the first to say that he was not responsible for the development
of the sports infrastructure of East Providence.
But, everybody knew that he was. And everyone seemed comfortable with it.

When JFK was shot, we had a memorial service for our president in the Central gym on the the following Tuesday.

I looked around for Bill's navy blue sports jacket.
Just wanted to make sure he was there.

To the Stringfellow family, my sincere condolences on the passing of Bill. I knew him through football and the Providence Gridiron Club. He led a highly productive life which made his profession and community better places. His legacy lives on through his family and the countless students and players he influenced. May he rest in peace.
