With deepest sorrow, the family of Maria Wilcox announces her sudden passing on January 4, 2021. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Noemi and Roberto Fiorentino, the family moved to the United States when Maria was eight months old.
After graduating from UCLA in 1986, Maria dedicated her life to helping students gain a higher education and pursue their dreams. She left behind an extensive legacy after 35 years of service at UCLA, where she was the Associate Director of the Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP). Maria also shared her talents with UCLA Admissions, Student Affairs, the College: Making It Happen initiative as an initial member, and statewide projects for the University of California Office of the President. Full of life and joy, she lit up every room she walked in. Maria will be dearly missed by her family and colleagues.
She is survived by her only child, Miranda, a UCLA Bruin of the class of 2019.
A memorial service is being arranged for when it is safe to celebrate Maria's life in person.
