Dear Father Ryan,
Thank you for the attention you alway gave me as a young child. I fondly remember our times together at the rectory as a tried patiently to wait for my mother who was in the kitchen cooking up your favorite meals, oh how you loved your lamb chops with mint sauce! My mother says you were fond of her baked goods-especially the cakes!
Your attention to me was memorable, so dearly I hold the memories of you driving me to my first day of school, Kindergarten just around the corner....
I will always remember your laugh, your thick eye brows and your cheeky laugh! You made me feel so special when you would bring back a gift from Ireland, the green striped pant suit-such beautiful quality.
You married two of my siblings, and baptized my youngest brother!
Only yesterday did I find out you have moved on the the spirit world, today I am grieving.
As I phoned my parents today to give them the news, I found myself sobbing. All tears of gratitude.
So "Thank you" from the bottom of my heart for the love and attention you gave our family.
You will be missed by many.
Love,
Cindy

Father Ryan was the heart and soul of the Lake County Passion Play. I was privileged to participate in the Passion Play in 2006 to the present time. Father Ryan called me personally, because at that time our rehearsals were delayed because of the heavy rain that soaked the hill thereby making the grounds dangerous. So the good priest that he was, called me 3 times to tell me not to show up for rehearsals. It was my first time participating in the Passion Play. I was quite moved by his presence and his kindness. He was truly a man of God. His welcoming demeanor made me feel quite at home. God be with you till we meet again at Jesus's feet.

Dear Father Ryan,
Thank you for baptizing our babies, marring our children and burring our
loved ones. You gave so much to our community and truly cared. We are so
blessed and grateful to have had you in our lives. God Bless you Father Ryan,
till we meet again....

We happened to be in Lakeport with family at Christmas when my husband saw this in the paper. As volunteer participants in the Passion Play there for many years, a few under Father Ryan, we have fond memories.
