Joanne S. Cox, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on March 25, 2021. Joanne was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to George Sherk and Elizabeth "Betty" Grier. Joanne graduated from West Chester State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Education and was active in many activities and organizations, including being the captain of the Women's Gymnastics team, Alpha Sigma Alpha, and the Valkyries. Joanne Sherk and I attended Susquehanna Twp. High School in Harrisburg, PA. In our senior year, she was elected by the student body as Miss Susquehanna, a singular distinction to be sure. Jo was a beauty, inside and out. She was one of our class' best, admired and respected for her engaging personality and contributions to school life. May God bless and sustain her family through this season of grief and loss.
