Paul Bosetti
Anderson, CA
Paul Bosetti, Jr., also known by many as "Push", 89, passed peacefully from this life on March 27, 2018 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born on July 19, 1928 to Paul Sr. and Bertha Bosetti in Westwood, California. Paul was the oldest of four siblings and is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Donna Huddleston, brother, Morris Bosetti, wife, Gloria, daughter, Karen Webb and son, Marty Bosetti. He is survived by brother, Louis "Lou" Bosetti, six children, Rick Bosetti (Patti), Teresa Foster (Mike), Gina Ritchey, Paula McCarley (Steve), Andrea Harris (Rich), Jason Bosetti (Jodi), 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 7 great, great-grandchildren, and a step-mother-in-law, Lorraine Croup.
Paul graduated from Westwood High School in 1946 and married the love of his life, Gloria Croup, in December, 1947. He embarked upon a career for the next 35 years in the mill industry as a hot press operator and also worked a second job during 16 of those 35 years as a radiator repair/service station attendant for Morton's Texaco in Anderson.
In late August of 1980, Paul opened his own radiator shop at the corner of Ferry and West Center Streets in Anderson across from "Jake's Jolly Cone/T.J.'s Drive In" until his retirement in 2005.
Raising 8 children kept him and Gloria very busy but he still found time to serve his community. He was past president of the Sons of Italy-Shasta Lodge, served 40 years on the Board of Directors for Verde Vale Water, and on the Anderson Fire District Board until retiring that position in November of 2016, at which time he was the oldest elected official in Shasta County.
Paul's love for sports lead him to coach several youth in Anderson Pop Warner Football and also coached both boys and girls basketball teams for the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) for many years.
He loved his life and in his final years was committed to his faith, family and friends. For all who knew Paul, please know that his prayer for passing peacefully in his sleep was faithfully answered.
Visitation will take place on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Anderson, followed by a Rosary at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 10 a.m., also at Sacred Heart Church. Interment will be at the Anderson Cemetery following the Mass.
