Randell Wayne Moffat
Redding, CA
Randell Wayne Moffat, age 64, of Eagle Nest, NM and Redding, CA passed away suddenly on 1-14-2018 in Redding, CA. He was born in Victoria, Australia to Eugene and Virginia Moffat on 9-18-1953. Randy has an older brother, Mike Moffat, of Redding, CA.
Randy raced motorcycles through his high school years. He was always winning his races. His parents were at every race cheering him on.
Randy lost his father when he was sixteen years old. Randy helped support the family by working after school at the Coca Cola plant sorting bottles.
After graduating High School, he joined the Navy.
Randy went to work for his Uncle Kenny in Colorado as a plumber's helper. At the age of 25, Randy became a Master Plumber in Houston, Texas. In 1979, he started his own plumbing business along with his wife, Susan, of 44 years. Randy and Susan retired from the plumbing business in 2015 and together they enjoyed traveling back and forth from NM to CA. Randy always wanted to come back to Redding.
Randy was in the 1st Nova class. It was a 9th grade only class. He played football and basketball for Nova and Enterprise High School. Cool April nights, Randy loved the Hot Rods. His love of toys consisted of a Camaro, super charged to 600HP, by Hennessey, a Mustang Shelby GT500, and a Harley Davidson Trike.
Together Randy and Susan have two sons, Robert (deceased) and Jerry Moffat. Randy's grandchildren are Dylan and Marissa Moffat of Plantersville, Texas.
Randy had built the one and only Boat Dry Stack in Surfside, Texas. He also sold fuel to boats on the water. Randy loved boating and fishing with friends. Randy owned a 31' Bertram (Bullet) and a 46' Bertram (Marissa). Randy named the 46' after his granddaughter.
Randy and Susan built a home in South Texas, just south of Charlotte, Texas where the whole family and friends hunted hogs, deer, and quail. Rattlesnakes, too.
Randy ranched and Elk hunted for years at his New Mexico ranch. Randy would invite his Texas friend as well as his local (Buds) to come on up and hunt with him.
Friends and family gathered on 1-28-2018 at the Moffat home in NM on Squash Blossom to celebrate Randy's life. Randy was laid to rest next to his son Robert's grave at the Moffat family Cemetery. Randy lived life to the fullest. Randy was happy with life. Randy made many friends, and they will always remember his kindness, generosity, and friendship. Till we meet again, Randell Wayne Moffat, may God hold and comfort you in his arms. Love, Wife.
