George was my freshman basketball coach at Chico State during the 1951-52 season. His enthusiasm, encouragement and leadership was just singular. He's always, since those days, held a singular place in my heart. Truly, he left the world a better place. Oh...and our first game was at the opening of the then-new Shasta JC gym, and we prevailed by four points! George loved that win..

I came to Shasta College from high school in Brooklyn New York.Away from home for the first time, George was my friend and advisor in those early days.Still remember, those Thansgiving dinners with the entire family.

George was a true friend and mentor of our family for over 60 years. He was our neighbor for many years in the Kutrus Park neighborhood and my friend while attending Shasta College as a student body officer and captain of the tennis team. George was always helpful when we needed his input concerning troubling problems at the college about students concerns. He will always be remembered and missed.
