Leanne, this is Janet from Humboldt, now in Napa. I'm sorry this is such a belated notice but I've never gotten over the shock of the phone call I got from you telling me about your dear Mom. I'm so sad and so sorry for you & all your family; what a terrible & tragic loss!! I loved your Mother & always appreciated so much that she made great efforts to stay in touch. She was extremely smart, fun, funny, adventurous, kind, caring, and I know she was an exceptionally great teacher. I miss her greatly. My love & condolences to you, Thomas, your Aunt Jennifer, your Grandpa, Foster, Jorge, Manny and your Dad. ♥
Love, Janet (Dungan-Byrne)

Rest in peace, Patty. You left us too soon.

There are not very many people, outside of immediate family, that I have known longer than you. We met in Kindergarten, and made it all the way through high school and several band camps together. I remember going to school dances at Live Oak with you and holding hands. Back then all you had to do to have a girlfriend was ask, "Will you go with me?" Lol...and you did. It didn't last, but still, I can't think of you and not think of that. I remember you lived close to Ken Ely and I used to go over there to play. I drove by Ely Lane the other day, but the neighborhood has changed, lots of new homes, there were still a few houses from that era there, but I'm not sure if any of them were yours or Ken's, or if they're even still standing. Seems like we grew apart in high school, probably in part to me quiting band, and starting cross country and track, but I guess that happens sometimes. One thing is for sure, you were a huge part of my life, and I can't think of that time without thinking of you fondly. You have left us way too early and my heart is very much saddened by that, but I know you're in a better place...good bye Patty, I will miss you, but think of you often...
