I was a colleague of Peggy's in the Shasta Union High School District. Her concern and active advocacy for kids was one of her hallmarks.
She also could read the tea leaves when staff members were going through a rough patch.
A fine lady who knew how to make and keep good friends.

Rest in peace sweet lady, you will be missed

No one could meet Peggy Mathis without knowing that she possessed an abiding force of will that she used in more positive ways than can be counted. Students, staff and friends all knew her to be a constant source of reassurance sprinkled liberally with a "can do" attitude that could not be denied. You simply couldn't say "no" to Peggy. She wouldn't have it. And so it is, that this remarkable woman leaves all that knew her better off for the experience. Thank you, Peggy.
