Zada Rippe Obituary

Zada "Sue" Rippe

Redding, CA

March 5, 1927 – February 13, 2018

Zada Sualt 'Sue' Rippe went home to be with her Lord and savior on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. Sue's father, John Moore, worked on Sualt Railroad when Sue was a child and she was so named after this railroad company. Sue was 90 years old and passed away from complications caused by a second stroke occurring just one week before her passing. She was born in Eldridge, Alabama, and came to live in Burney, California, before she was 20 years old, was a teacher at a local school and lived there for six years. While in Burney, Sue met and married William August 'Bill' Rippe when she was 22 and moved to Redding, California. Sue lived in Redding with her husband and her children, Daryl and Marcus (Marc), for four years. She then moved with her family to Arbuckle, California, where she had one more child, Lori, and remained there until Bill's death. Bill and Sue were married 34 years. The Rippe family lived in the country and the entire family loved getting together with extended family, camping, fishing, and playing music. Since Sue's children, Daryl, Marcus and Lori, were grown after Bill Rippe passed, Sue moved back to Redding to be near two of her sisters who lived in Redding, Nina Bullard and Bobbie Miles. Sue remained a resident of Redding until she passed. Sue was a devout Christian and attended church and bible study meetings regularly and was deeply loved by all of her family. She is survived by her children, Daryl Rippe and Lori Maxwell (Marcus Rippe is deceased), her grandchildren Suzette Pendergras, Michelle Rippe, Stephanie Lee and Cassandra Rippe, and her great grandchildren William 'Will' Rippe, Karissa Lutz, Michael Pawley and Alexia Lee. The location and date of Sue's life celebration memorial will occur at a later date and will be announced shortly.

I remember the first time I saw Aunt Sue when she came from Alabama to Big Bend where I lived with my Mom and Dad. My Mom being her older sister. I thought then and still do that Aunt Sue was the prettiest and sweetest thing I had ever y seen. She was always so kind and sweet to me especially as I got older. She was that with everyone. While I was not close to her as I got older she will always be in my heart and mind. I loved her very much.Carolyn Harris-Heaton
