EATON — Judith Ann York, 71, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away Monday, July 6, 2020, at CHI Health Good Samaritan in Kearney.

Judith was born Feb. 1, 1949, to Billy Joe and Lucille Catherine (Schlarman) Ketring in Osgood, Ohio. She attended Monroe High School and graduated with the class of 1967 in Eldorado. She went on to further her education in Dayton at the IBM school. She also received her Nail Technician License in cosmetic services in Kearney, Nebraska.

She was united in marriage to Steven York on Dec. 23, 1967, in Eaton. Two boys were blessed to this union, Michael and Shawn. They lived in Denver, Colorado before moving to Lexington in 1984, where they have resided ever since.

Judith always kept herself busy, and she worked many jobs in the Lexington area in customer service and bookkeeping. She was employed at Ampride, All Points Cooperative, DeBruce Grain Elevator, Goodwill, and her final job was working with the elderly: cooking meals, cleaning and helping wherever needed. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening, canning and spending time with her four cats.

Judith leaves to celebrate her life: two sons, Michael (Stacey) York of Kearney and Shawn (Laura) York of Ravenna; three grandchildren: Dylan and Ryan of Kearney and Alyssa Dewey of Grand Island; brothers: Larry (Del) Ketring of Houston, Texas and Terry (Lori) Ketring of Kentucky; two sisters: Cynthia (Joe) Johnson of New Paris, Ohio and Michelle (Victor) Collavo of Lebanon, Ohio; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, friends; her cats, Catrina, Baillie, Gracie and Molly; as well as her dog, Beau. Judith was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Steven.

There will be no visitation, as the family is honoring Judith's wish for cremation. Burial will be held at a later date. A memorial has been established in Judith's honor and kindly suggested to the family for later designation. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. Please share online condolences with the family by visiting reynoldslovefunerahome.com

York family - You have my deepest sympathy. I worked with Judy years ago and really enjoyed getting to talk with her last year. Judy was a fun and very sincere person. Please know that when she worked with me, she talked about how much her family meant to her.

Sorry for your loss. I knew Judy when we lived in Lex as she cleaned my house for several years and she & Steve bought our house on Grafton when we moved back home in 1999. Judy always had a bright smile!
