Thomas McGinn Obituary

Thomas Francis (Tom) McGinn peacefully passed away surrounded by family on January 23rd. Tom was born on July 6, 1939 in Philadelphia, PA to Francis and Margaret (Murphy) McGinn. Tom graduated from the first graduating class at Father Judge High School in 1957. Tom was responsible for picking out the school colors. After high school, he embarked on 4 years of military service with the Coast Guard. After the conclusion of his military service, Tom earned his associated degree from La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA. On November 28th, 1959 he married Carole Berninger and to this union 3 children were born. The late, Thomas Francis Jr, Daniel Joseph and Christine Marie. Tom was a manufacturing manager throughout his life and this career took him and his family to 5 different states which included Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Minnesota, Wyoming and Colorado where he finished his career with 21 years at Storage Tek. Staying in Colorado for the last 38 years. He felt very fortunate to have met so many wonderful friends and family experiences throughout those years. Tom was an avid reader, loved all sports, especially football and hockey and loved spending time with family. Tom is survived by a loving family including his wife of 58 years Carole, son Dan (Molly) and daughter Christine (John) Zach, and former daughter in law Terri Wagner. Grandchildren who affectionately refer to him as Pop-Pop: Laura (Brian) Wright, Jennifer Miller, Danny McGinn, Eric (Carissa) Zach, Megan McGinn and Tyler McGinn. Great grandchildren Gregory Zach, Lucas Miller, James Zach, Oliver Zach and Garrett Wright. He was preceded in death by son Tom Jr, parents Francis and Margaret, sisters Jean, Agnes, Ginger, Margaret and brother Joe. Services will by Monday January 29th, 12:00 noon at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Home with a reception to follow at the The Garden Room in Loveland, CO. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Pathways Hospice of Northern CO.
