Peggy Joyce (Toombs) Denison
Abilene, TX
Peggy Joyce (Toombs) Denison went peacefully surrounded by her family on January 27, 2018. She was a strong woman with a relentless heart and fighting spirit.
Peggy was born on April 25, 1926 in Merkel, Texas to W.W. and Bernice (Crow) Toombs. She was a graduate of Merkel High School and attended McMurry University.
In 1946, she married Jim Denison and raised two daughters, Dianne and Kit. Peggy, or Meme as she was known to her six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, loved feeding and caring for her family at all ages and stages in her life.
She was proceeded in death by her parents W.W. and Bernice (Crow) Toombs and her brothers, Stanley Toombs and Willie B. Toombs.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Green and husband Roy, and daughter Kit Mullins and husband Jesse; six grandchildren: Beau Green and wife Melissa, Bicky Tolar and husband Lance, Mary Kathryn Shifflett and husband D.J., Amy Bailey and husband Zach, Stan "Rusty" Green and Meredith Whiten and husband Randall; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and outlaws and a large extended family.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, January 30,02018 at 2:00PM at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, Texas.
