Mr. Heinze was my homeroom teacher at S.F. Austin. I graduated in 1970. He was an amazing teacher and man. I think we got along because my father was an interim choir director in several local churches. People I've talked to know that he was a true man of God. You and your family are in my prayers

So sorry to hear that you left us. I always remembered you til today. I chose your class because you were a strict teacher. I remember what you told me the first day of class. As I was sitting in the very front roll, instead of the back of the class. You said if you listen and take notes, you will pass my weekly test. If you pass my weekly test then you don' t have to take my finals. That was a challenge I could not refuse. Every week I would make A's on his test. Then on the week of the finals Mr. Heinz's read off the ones that would be exempt. He called my as the first one. I was so proud of myself, and he was proud for me. We earned each other's respect. So many people were envy of that. I just followed directions and it paid off for me , forever and ever. What a Great Teacher, you will be dearly missed by me. RIP
