Corinne Lynn O'Daye-Racine
Corinne Lynn O'Daye-Racine was born February 21, 1950 in Schurz, Nevada, to Stressler and Esther O'Daye. Corry passed away in the early morning of November 12th after being hospitalized for dementia related illnesses. Corry is survived by her sons, Tyrone O'Daye, Marvin Racine Jr., brothers, Mike, Bob, Ronald (Diz), Kevin O'Daye and sisters, Kathy Yazzie, Carol Wyatt, and Valerie Smith. Corry cherished her 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Corry was a member of the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony. Over her lifetime, she worked for the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada, the VA hospital and the Tribal Smoke Shops as an Assistant Director of Retail Operations. She also served as an elected official for the RSIC Tribal Council.
Corry was an avid sports lover. She played basketball, softball, horse shoes, bowling and golf. Corry was especially proud of her hole-in-one at Brookside golf course.. She was also the local hoola-hoop champion. She served as the secretary for the golf club and the Reno Indian Athletic Association (RIAA).
Corry was known throughout her neighborhood as a caring, loving person. She was loved by people in her community and known to be helpful. Her kindness extended to giving you the shirt off her back. Most importantly, she loved her family. She will be greatly missed.
