Shirley Hazel Raulinaitis
Sparks - Shirley Hazel Raulinaitis, 89, passed peacefully from this world surrounded by her Son's and Daughter in law, on Saturday, October 10, 2020, at St. Marys Hospital, in Reno, NV. Shirley was born to Hilbert and Gertrude (Bales) Borcher, on March 31,1931, in Sidney, NE. Shirley married Edward Raulinaitis on January 20, 1951. This union produced two Son's and lasted until Ed's passing on June 12, 2000 after 49 years of marriage. After the closure of Sioux Army Depot in 1965, Shirley and her family relocated to Herlong where Ed and Shirley began work at the Army base and both retired in 1987, Shirley with 37 years of dedicated service. She found joy in all things and truly loved her life. She had an infectious, hearty laugh and an endearing quality that we will all miss. Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband Edward, her parents, a brother Dale, and grandson Aaron. She is survived by her son Jerry and his wife Susan of Sacramento, CA and their children and grandchildren, Jeremy (Danielle), Ellie, Karson, and Korbin, of Herriman, UT. Kyle (Julia) Haley, Kate and Grace of Fair Oaks, CA. Keith (Crystal) Brooks of Sacramento, CA. Christopher (Samantha) Gannon and Grayson of Sacramento, CA. Curtis (Miranda) Jack of Carmichael, CA. Her son Steven and partner Martha of Reno, NV. Steve's Son Brandon and grandson Tristan of Redding, CA. She is also survived by two sisters, Eleanor Gordon of Sidney, NE and Eileen Worth of Lincoln, NE. and beloved nephews, nieces and friends. A public viewing will be held on Friday October 23, 2020 from 5-7 pm at the Walton's-Ross, Burke and Knobel Mortuary in Reno, NV. Covid protocols will be observed. A private family only graveside service and burial will be on Saturday, October 24, 2020. A celebration of her life will be at a later date.
