Stacey Lynn Smeath Berry

July 29, 2013

Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, Stacey Lynn Smeath Berry, passed away on July 29, 2013 with family beside her after a courageous battle with cancer. For all her years, Stacey was a source of enthusiasm, inspiration and happiness to all who knew her. She will be terribly missed.

Stacey was born to Robert (Bob) and Jean Pincolini Smeath and raised in Reno, Nevada.

She attended Earl Wooster High School where she made many life-long friends.

After graduation from high school, Stacey attended the University of Nevada Reno, obtaining her Bachelor's degree in 1988. While at Nevada, she became a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority, where she again created enduring bonds of friendship with many of her sorority sisters.

In 1989, Stacey married her best friend and soul mate, Tom Berry, and in 1992 they welcomed their son, Kevin, to the family. For the next 18 years, she could always be found on the sidelines or in the stands at Kevin's games cheering him on. In 2009, daughter Hope joined the family.

When Stacey was not spending time with her large extended family, she could be found with the other true loves of her life - her horses. She cherished riding and participating in dressage and hunter/jumper competitions. She also treasured having great friends that shared her passion.

Stacey is survived by her parents Bob and Jean Smeath; her husband Tom; son Kevin; daughter Hope; and brother Jeff Smeath (Karen, son Ricky), as well as many other extended family members.

A Mass will be held on August 7, 2013 at 11:00 am at Our Lady of the Snows Church, 1138 Wright Street, Reno, NV. A reception will be held immediately following the mass at the Reno Elks Lodge, 597 Kumle Lane, Reno, NV. In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in her memory to a charity of the donor's choosing.
