Rita M. Logue, 92, of 120 Main St., Johnsonburg, died Sunday morning, Oct. 15, 2017 at Wesbury Nursing Home, Meadville, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Feb. 5, 1925 in Johnsonburg, daughter of the late Luke and Johanna Polaski Thorwart.
She married William K. Logue on Oct. 4, 1947 in Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. He preceded her in death April 17, 2001.
She resided in Johnsonburg all her life and was a 1942 graduate of Johnsonburg Area High School. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Church and the Holy Rosary Prayer Group, Rosary Altar Society and Holy Rosary Senior Choir. She loved American country and folk art and antique collecting and was a proud housekeeper.
She had worked at the Johnsonburg Public Library for many years. She had also worked at Bauer's Fashions, McCaw's Store and Andrew Kaul Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide.
She is survived by her sons, Lawrence W. Logue and his wife Cecelia of Macon, Georgia, Thomas W. Logue of Johnsonburg and William N. Logue and his wife Pamela of Johnsonburg; one daughter, Laurie A. Wilcox and her husband Douglas of Cambridge Springs; eight grandchildren, Dr. Alicia Logue of San Antonio, Texas, William G. Logue of Johnsonburg, Andrew Logue and his wife Lauren of Cranberry Township, Stephen Logue of State College, Julie, Mrs. Andrew Neville of Richmond, Virginia, Daniel Logue of East Rochester, New York, Emily, Mrs. Jordan Deutsch of Fountain, Colorado and Tessa Siverling and her fiance Brian Samick of Erie; and four great-grandchildren.
She was the last surviving member of her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Laurence and Daniel Thorwart; and three sisters, Geraldine Cadigan, Irene Cheatle and Marie Diebler.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Rita M. Logue will be held Thursday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, Johnsonburg. Officiating will be Rev. David J. Wilson, pastor. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery. Friends will be received at the Anthony F.
