What a privilege it was to have known Robert and been the beneficiary of hearing Robert share his stories of traveling the world. I had the honor of being his next door neighbor in Ruidoso. I can honestly say I never worried about anything as I knew Robert was always watching my place as well as watering any new trees or plants I had installed. My favorite story of Roberts was probably one he told about the time when he shot a bear in the 'butt'. The game warden asked him if he had in fact shot the bear and of course he said he did. He loved all the ladies and earned their admiration for being so genuine. Robert was full of life and loved the mountains. My immediate family, cousins, and in-laws all came to love Robert and we all will miss him greatly. In the past couple of years not a trip to Ruidoso was made that everyone wanted to know how Robert was. To his kids and grandkids he loved you more than you'll ever know. Not a conversation was had that he didn't share something about your successes and or a call he had received from one of you.
