Everyone who knew Boobie only had good things to say about him. He had such an electric personality and was a true shinning star! I have fond memories playing football with him at Mitchell Jr High. We were both well matched athletically and competed at a high level in practices striving to make each other better. I was always in awe of his physique and loved his humor and bright spirit. For those of us who knew him knew we were in the presence of someone very special. The world is down one warrior to the likes of which we will never see again. RIP my friend.

I just got the news and can't believe my old friend has passed. I went to middle school with Boobie in the mid-70's, and played football with Boobie. I was the full back that cleared the way for him to run his touchdowns. Wow! what a shock. Maurice I also remember you and am saddened to hear about your loss. It's been almost forty years since I last spoke or saw Boobie, but I have found memories of the good times we had in school. My prayers and condolences go out to the family.

It is hard for me to think about Boopie without smiling. He was always quick to smile, fast with a joke and had those gorgeous eyes all of us girls noticed in high school. We were all fortunate to have known him and he will always be remembered fondly in my heart. My thoughts, sympathy and prayers are with the Boyce family.

Rest in peace my friend, you were loved.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Boyce family and all of Boobie's friends. Boobie was a cool, older guy I knew on Mather A.F.B. when I was just a child. He was funny, kind and handsome, and he use to tease me all the time. I rarely worked up the courage to actually talk to him, but fpr him, I think that was half the fun.

Judging by the wonderful things written here by people who have known and loved Boobie through the years, he never lost his special qualities. I'm sorry he's gone so soon, but I'm thankful that he was able to bring joy, laughter and love to the world while with us. Rest in peace Boobie and know that you are loved.

My deepest symnpathy goes out to everyone who loved Boobie. We went to high school together and I have often wondered about him over the years as unfortunately our paths never crossed after high school. He always had a smile on his face and he could make anyone laugh at any time. I know he is with God and the angels are rejoicing. May all the wonderful memories you have of him bring you comfort. God Bless.

The Boyce family is in my prayers. Although my heart is full of great sadness and tears, I will remember Marvin "Boobie" Boyce with a smile. The smiling, twinkly-eyed, sweet guy with the fabulous laugh, who I recently ran into delivering mail to my parents...well he will always be remembered...always.

With much love,

My Prayers and thoughts go out to the Boyce family. I will always remember Marvin as the mailman who always walked up to you with your mail and said "What do you know that is good", and if you said nothing or not a thing his reply would be "you don't know nothing", I remember one day he said that to me and my son came home right after that and told me what the mailman did and when I mentioned it to him he told me all about it and it was hilarious. Marvin was a nice young man and pleaseant when you saw him. He always spoke to you.

As for the family always remember you have the memories with all the good times and the smile he brought to you.

I understand it is hard when you lose a child but remember God does not put more on us than we can bear, even though it seems like it sometimes.

Keep your head up and keep the faith.

Love you all
Brita West and Family.

I remember Boobie quite well, we were childhood friends, from Mather AFB, Mitchell Jr. High & Cordova Senior High School. Boobie was so full of life, he could always make you laugh or smile. He was very funny too. He was a good friend to many people. He was a good athlete & football player. You will be dearly missed Marvin (Boobie) by me & my family. I pray that you are in a better and happier place now Boobie, surrounded by the Angels.

As I lift up the Boyce family in prayer, I'll always remember Boobie as a happy, smiling, joking, mild mannered and all around good guy. He was always very polite and respectful whenever I'd see him, even when he was younger. Although I hadn't seen him much over the past few years, I will truly miss him. I know the Lord is taking good care of Boobie as we all speak about him.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you all. I knew your family when we all lived at Mather AFB in the mid 70's. God bless you.

August 20, 2011

My family is sadden to learn of Boopie's death. We have many magnificent memories of interacting with your family and "little Boopie" on Mather AFB. As principal of Villa Summer Institute 1999, I interacted with Marvin as a caring father. His daughter, Tiffany, was a student at the school. One sunny summer day as I stood at the counter in the front office of the school, a smiling, still handsome older "Boopie" walked into the front office, approached me and asked, "You don't remember me do you?"
I answered... "Sure I remember you, you're Boopie."
We enjoyed a meaningful conversation about his life, career and his daughter. "Little Boopie" had grown into Mr. Boyce; a productive citizen, and a caring father.

May God's Holy Spirit grant you strength to endure your emotional, spiritual, and physical grief and pain.

Persis Ingram and family.
