I still think of Bill from time to time and all my memories are good one. He is one of my supervisors that influenced my way of supervising. When he was a Captain at Solano his door was always open and always made quality time for all who needed to talk or needed help. We were the same age and it's still hard to accept his untimely death at such a young age. Till we meet again my brother.

I was so sorry to hear of Bill's death. I was out of town and did not hear of his death until I returned today. You will all be in my prayers. He was a wonderful man.

As my supervisor he was always thoughtful, and supportive. I enjoyed hearing the old SQ stories.

Having just returned from Buffalo where I attended the funeral of my own dad, I just read this past week's news. I was so sorry to hear of Bill's passing and want you know the effect he had on even people that he didn't know well.

Whenever Mr. Rains, as I called him, visited CMF he put a smile on our faces. He was always kind and considerate and we looked forward to seeing him. I know how I loved hearing nice things about my own dad and just wanted to pass this on to you. We were lucky to have dads such as these.
Sincerely, RoseMary Torrisi

Condolences to Bill's family, they will be our prayers. I had the pleasure of working with Bill in the 70s, when we were both lieutenants at San Quentin. He was well thought of by staff and inmates and professional in the perfomance of his duties. Even in difficult times he had a smile on his face, as well as something positive to say.
