Mrs. Parris was the mom of one of my best childhood friends. A lot of the neighborhood called her 'mom' as she was friendly and caring to everyone who knew her. I haven't seen her in a very long time but I know she's in a good place now and at peace. Godspeed Mrs. Parris and condolences to Stacy and the rest of the family. She will be missed by many.

Ms. Parris was my sixth grade teacher at Longfellow Elementary in Saginaw. She was a very imposing teacher but fun loving and insightful. I'll remember her paddle and quote to students. As I moved on in life I would see her at Central Jr High and in the community. Many years ago I seen her walking at Hoyt park and we chatted. I mentioned I finally graduated from college...she said she was proud of me and hugged me. Still that huge figure I was blessed for her guidance and care to this little curly head kid. As an educator i share her quote often..."LET THE GOOD DOOR HIT YA WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT YA" Rest in Heaven and Peace to Familia

Mrs. Parris was my 6th grade teacher at Longfellow Elementary years ago. She was an inspiration to me! She was the first teacher who made me truly believe in myself and my capabilities. Rest in peace and thank you for giving your best to children.

Gerri and my husband Rudy were the best of friends - always kidding each other when he worked at Hoffman Knapp Drugs in Saginaw. She was a loving person and thought the world of her son. I will keep all of you in my prayers.
