MARY ROBISON Obituary

Mary Kay Robison 1950 ~ 2010 If you are reading this, I must have closed my eyes for the last time and begun a new journey of joy and love without physical pain. I have concluded a 22 month battle with cancer, an awful disease which robs you of the precious energy and strength needed to live life to its fullest. I was born in Salt Lake City, UT, Aug. 28, 1950 to Wendell and Florence Nix, and have lived in this valley my entire life. I can say that my life has been a wonderful journey, even though it hasn't always turned out as I had envisioned. It's been filled with joy, love and beauty, balanced at times by the difficult lessons life teaches. I shared the last years of my life with my sweetheart, husband and partner, Kenny Ray Robison. We married in the Salt Lake Temple, Sept. 2, 1970. I couldn't have asked for a more cherished lover, friend and companion with whom to share my life. More importantly, I couldn't have found a more loving man to be the father of our children, nor a better partner to help me make my final transition. Ken, your gentle and compassionate care made my illness bearable. I hope all the men reading this take note of how much strength it truly takes to show such caring and compassion. We had such fun together, sweetheart. Go now, and have some fun without any more lists or chores. You deserve to play! I ask those of you that love and care for Ken to love him now, and help him to move on without me. Ken and I were blessed with six wonderful children: April Taylor (Corey), Jennifer Cline (Jeff), Kenny Robison, Laurie Eliason (Tim), Angela Morris (John), and Emily Wright (Sean). Our children have further blessed us with 12 delightful grandchildren. My family made my passing a moment of joy and peace. One of life's most important lessons, is that of showing our family and friends love while they are living. So, in this respect, I am requesting no flowers for me. Instead, please express your feelings of love and affection by making a donation to Huntsman Cancer Institute, whose doctors and staff I cannot thank enough for giving me extra time to spend with my loved ones. Better yet, take your spouse or family to lunch and tell them you love them today, for no one knows what tomorrow holds. I'm on to a new journey now, so wish me God's speed. I'm dancing with the angels now! Mary died peacefully at her home in Sandy, Utah, on March 20, 2010, surrounded by her husband and children at the time of her passing. A viewing will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Granite 8th Ward, 9245 S. Quail Run Dr. (2360 E.), Sandy, Utah, at 12:00 noon. A brief viewing will precede the services from 10:30 a.m to 11:45 a.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park will follow the services.

I've met Mary several times because her daughter, April Taylor is one of my dearest friends. Mary was always there to support her children and grandchildren. She was beautiful, warm, kind and sweet, and the world is a lesser place because of her passing. My warmest wishes go out to her family.

Ken & family~

We are so saddened to hear of Mary's passing. Even though I only met her once (she hosted a bridal shower for Brooke, my daughter-in-law), it was obvious she was a lovely and gracious woman. May each of you feel the love and peace of our Heavenly Father as you carry on without your sweet Mary. Sylvia McGuire (Tracy's mother)

I didn't know Mary well, I met at her greenhouse a few years ago. My friends and I were so excite by all the beauty and enjoyed her bright spirit. When we left she gave us all hugs. We come back every year to see Mary and to buy her flowers. We will miss her. Ken you are in our thoughts and prayers. Pat

My dear, sweet sister. I hear your laugh, see your smile and my heart hurts for your children and Ken. You have touched so many lives during your earthly journey. I will always cherish the many memories I have of you.

The courage and strength you have exhibited to all of us these past two years has placed you in my "hero column". I will miss you, but feel grateful for the knowledge that I'll be with you again.

Ken and family, how blessed have we all been to have known Mary. We will never forget her cheery outlook on life. She always found a kind word to say about everyone and everything. The day was always made on visits to the store. Her big as life smile and cheerful greeting was always the highlight of the visit. While we will all miss her we will always cherish her memory and rest on the sure knowledge there will be a reunion in but a heart beat of eternity. Ken we love you and know that Mary will continue to watch over you. Love, Stephanie and Jeff Bernson
