JOAN VIKTORIN BEALE, On Sunday, February 14, 2021, Joan Viktorin Beale peacefully passed away at the age of 86. She was born on January 4, 1935 to Robert Vaughn Whitaker and Vivian Wildenthal Whitaker. Joan was raised in Eagle Pass, Texas by her mother and stepfather Charles Edward Maurer, Jr. She finished high school in three years and attended Incarnate Word College in San Antonio, Texas. Joan was an avid reader and an exemplary student. She was elected to membership in ALPHA LAMBDA DELTA, National Scholastic Society for Freshman Women. This recognition places you among the highest ranking freshman woman in colleges and universities throughout the country. She graduated with a Business Degree from the University of Texas. She was a member of the MENSA Society.Joan married Jerry Viktorin in 1953 and on November 4, 1954, gave birth to her son Richard Anthony Viktorin. Unfortunately, this marriage did not workout. She later married the love of her life, William Lee Beale. Joan worked for TEC for 37 ½ years. She was a Hearings Officer and a really good one. She knew the law backwards and forwards. After retiring, Joan and Bill traveled all over the world and took at least fifteen cruises. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, William "Bill" Lee Beale.Joan is survived by her beloved son, Richard Anthony Viktorin; her step daughter, Shelly Nisonger; her grandchildren, Katie Redman Harris, Natalie Regan and Matthew Nisonger; great grandchildren, Oliver Harris, Mason Regan, Grace Regan, Colin Regan and Luke Nisonger; two brothers Edward Maurer wife Patricia and Bernard Maurer and wife Nancy. Joan had nine nieces and nephews and nineteen great nieces and great nephews. She was adored and loved by all her family and friends.Funeral Services were held on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Yeager Barrera Mortuary in Eagle Pass, Texas. Burial followed at the Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Cemetery Funeral Arrangement in care of and entrusted to: Yeager Barrera Mortuary, 1613 Del Rio Blvd. Eagle Pass, Texas 78852 PH: 830-773-3211.
