Patricia (Tricia) Kay Hernden went to be with her Lord on February 16, 2021 at the age of 56. Tricia was born September 10, 1964 in San Antonio, Texas to Patricia Helen Duecker and A.L. Hernden (Charlotte). Tricia will always be remembered for her infectious smile and the unwavering devotion she showered upon friends and family.

A life-long San Antonian, Tricia attended Holy Spirit Catholic School until attending and graduating Tom C. Clark High School, where she was a proud member of Top Cats dance team. She then attended and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and Saint Mary's Law School. Upon graduating with her law degree, Tricia worked as a prosecutor for the Bexar County District Attorney's Office before starting a law firm with friends from law school. Tricia subsequently opened a successful practice of her own with thriving offices in San Antonio, Laredo, and the Valley.

Tricia never met a person she did not like and had more close friends than anyone could hope for from all stages in her life. She had an endearing honesty and vulnerability that drew people in. Ferociously loyal to her friends and family, Tricia was quick to support the many people she loved in any and every way they needed. Her confidence and candor leant itself to an intimacy in her relationships that her friends and family cherished. Tricia was fun and funny and was quick with a joke or story for any occasion. Nothing made her happier than being with groups of her friends, which included family members.

Like her mother, Tricia's favorite holiday was Christmas, and she would spend months selecting the perfect gift for just about every person she ever met, which was always accompanied by a hand-written note and beautiful wrapping. Not one to withhold an occasion to be generous, Tricia enjoyed "sneaking" gifts to her young nieces and nephews and letting them in on "secrets" and pranks. Tricia loved fashion and enjoyed buying extra of her favorites to share with her sister or friends. Her generosity did not limit itself to her tokens and gifts; she was generous in giving compliments, time, love, and with her natural ability to help people solve issues.

Tricia also loved traveling, hearing or telling a great story, and making great memories by making every event special in some way. She was always the life of the party and instigator of outrageous fun and laughter. Her energy and light made every occasion an event.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Helen Duecker, step-sister, Stephanie Brown, and step-brother, Jim Orlando.

Tricia is survived by her father and step-mother, A.L. and Charlotte Hernden; by her sisters, Jennifer Hernden and Miriam Campion (Bernie); her brothers, John Hernden (Martha) and Michael Hernden; her brother-in laws, Richard Sparr and Tim Brown; by her beloved nieces and nephews, Mallory Sparr, Hope Hernden, Richard Sparr III, Wesley Sparr, and John Hernden III; and her loving aunt, Betty Stout.

She is also survived by her cousins, Michelle Nelson, Jenny Nelson, Terri Wind, Celeste Brown, Shawn Brown (Nichole), Karla Griffith (Glenn), Krista Stehling (Kent), Keith Weinheimer (Sandra), Arah Duecker Campbell (Robert), Tammie Loth (Rick), and Troy Duecker (Caroline); her dear friends, Don Freeman and Rosa LaFond; and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and too many friends to possibly acknowledge.

Due to the circumstances surrounding Covid-19, a private memorial service will be held for family members and close friends on Monday March 1, 2021 with The Rosary at 10:30 A.M. and Funeral Service at 11:00 A.M. Friends are invited to view the livestreaming of both services from the link within her obituary page at www.porterloring.com.

Her internment will be held in the afternoon in a private ceremony in Fredericksburg, Texas.
