My dear Mr. Panman. You were my favorite teacher. I attended your class in 5th grade in 1959. You were such an inspiration to your students. It was from you I first heard the story of the holocaust. I will never forget you playing the piano in class while we worked and then telling us about the various composers and their works. You made such a difference in our young lives.

Mr. Panman was a wonderfully unique and talented man. He was my husbands teacher many many years ago and later became our piano tuner. We had such great conversation when he was working his magic tuning the piano. David Panman was a special man with a kind soul.

Today Sept 20,2014, I just read of your passing. You and your wife were my teachers and I have such fond memories of the classes you taught and the field trip to the Scripps Aquarium. You will be missed

Mr. Panman tuned my piano since I moved to Carlsbad over 30 years ago. My two daughters took piano lessons and he was so keen on making sure they heard a well-tuned piano, although he was not fond of mine (and rightly so.) But he made it sound as good as as possible, and both girls went on to become music teachers in the public school system, which pleased him. He was very interesting to talk with and I always felt like I gotten way more than a piano tuning when he left. I recently got a new Sohmer piano, and was going to call him just to let him know; he would have been so pleased. Yes, a very fine man.
