Eugene (Gene) C. Stone is mourned by family and friends after passing away at his Carlsbad home on December 29, 2020. Gene was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 5, 1931. He graduated from the University of New Mexico before serving in the U.S. Air Force. He earned an MBA from New York University in 1957. Upon graduation, he worked in the advertising firm of J. Walter Thompson in New York City for several years before returning to Atlanta. He spent many years developing real estate in the Southeast and several years in international finance until his retirement. Gene painted, played tennis, traveled widely, and enjoyed friends and family. He will be missed by Jackie, his wife of 39 years; two sons, Michael and Christopher; two daughters, Stephanie and Sherilyn; and 6 grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in his memory to the veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
